With respect to culture and history, the South holds an outsized place in the United States. It is the birthplace of jazz and blues, country and bluegrass music, and of course the King himself, Elvis Presley. These days it is also home to some of the fastest growing cities like those in Texas, Florida, and North Carolina. It is a large region comprising 16 states ranging from the mid-Atlantic to the border of Mexico.
